AGMA Annual Membership Meeting

This is a membership meeting and all are encouraged to attend.  This is the time of year to hear new ideas and find new volunteers.  AGMA is growing and continues to strive to have better and more shows.  Please make plans to attend and keep up on the latest information associated with AGMA.

BILL MOORE PASSES AWAY
American Gaited Mule Association is again saddened to announce the passing of our President - Mr. Bill Moore of Shelbyville, TN. Bill was instrumental in starting AGMA and had served as president since it's inception in 1995. Bill will be sadly missed by many people.



Official Obituary of Bill Moore, AGMA President: 

William Owen "Bill" Moore, 67, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, Feb. 2.2012, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a retired owner/operator of Moore Equipment Company and owner of Stepping Out Farm. He was also the current President of the American Gaited Mule Association 20+ years and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late William Jacob and Laura Irene Petty Moore and the step-son of the late Virginia Dare Beachboard Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Mooneyham Moore of Shelbyville; two sons, William Christopher “Chris” (Pam) Moore of Murfreesboro, Cary Jacob (Lori) Moore of Bell Buckle, three daughters, Lisa (Rodney) Schmiede of Shelbyville, Sheila (Donnie) Higgins of Bell Buckle, Angela (John) Floyd of Murfreesboro; eleven Grandchildren, Cara Moore, Anna Moore, Zachary Moore, Katie Hallum, Rodney Schmiede, Heather Garcia, Scott Jones, Lindsey Fournier, Lauren Grissom, Karly Grissom, Stephanie Calhoun and eight Great Grandchildren

"The mule industry lost a great man today", are the words that spread quickly Wednesday as the news of the passing of Paul Stamper leaked out into the mule industry.

Mr . Paul Stamper passed away from heart complications at the age of 51 .

Theresa Ware shared with 'Dixie' that Paul was very instrumental in getting the Great Celebration in Shelbyville started . He was a board member and the man who also started the Kentucky Mule and Donkey Association . He was given the 1st Lifetime Member Award recently at the KMDA 2011 State Championship Show . In closing Theresa simply summed up the feelings of all in the mule industry by stating "He is going to be missed greatly by all of us ! He was our hero !".

Janice Higgins of AGMA also contacted 'Dixie' stating that Paul Stamper was very active in the American Gaited Mule Association serving as a Board of Director. Janice is the Secretary of AGMA and stated on behalf of the Officers, Board of Directors and all members of AGMA, "Our deepest prayers go to the family of Paul, he will be greatly missed and will leave a large void in the mule industry.".
